KSSG 2005

One of the wonderful things about consulting is all the different businesses we get to work with. KSSG is a company that helps traders on the price of oil. They asked us to develop a new visual style for their web application (intended for experts in this particular domain) and then produce new designs for five key product screens. We developed several possible visual styles and the client chose the one that they liked best. We then applied the new style to each of the 5 key screens and created the HTML and CSS for those screens. We call this type of project a “reskinning” or “facelift”-we didn’t change how anything worked on each of these screens, but we did change the placement of the user interface elements in order to improve the flow and comprehension, and of course we updated the visual design.

KSSG: AFTER Concept #5: A refinement of the navigation system. Notice the Actions have now become tabs. The filtering of rulesets has also been distilled to its core functionality. This is a case where removing detail from the user experience helped to clarify the overall experience. Two Rivers Consulting Portfolio. Hagan Rivers. David Rivers.
